Forest Schools

NLT now offers Forest Schools training in the North West and North Wales.  Whether you would like to have a trainer come in to run an INSET training session, a one off session for classes or plan a full forest schools programme with your school – please get in touch to discuss what we have to offer.  Please use the form on the contact page, or call 07968838346. References are available upon request. Enhanced CRB checked.

Examples of projects we have run include:

  • A three session program in a local school in Cheshire to tie in with Michael Morpurgo’s novel ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’.  The Y6 students involved had practical session building shelters, learning knots, making straw mats and fishing equipment from natural materials, laying and managing small cooking fires, and cooking bread and fish.  This really helped to bring alive the story about a boy stranded on an island who is taught to survive by another castaway.

  • A two session program based around Michelle Pavers ‘Wolf Brother’ including exploring some of the themes brought up in the book
  • An ongoing project with a Cheshire school helping to develop their old school field into a woodland plus working with a different year group for half a term teaching play and skills relevent to specific ages. A fantastic and engaging project. We can’t wait for the woodland to develop!
    • First Aid Training for Practitioners

In addition we have been running 2 day first aid training for practioners at 2 separate venues in North Wales. Please click here for more details.

Jason is a member of the FSA, and is a trustee of Forest School Wales. He is a qualified teacher and level 3 Forest schools practitioner as well as offering Forest Schools 2 day First Aid courses.
